Looking at Confined Space Entry? CONKIT enables productive, safe operations inside confined spaces. Ordinary radio communications pose difficulty in many confined spaces because the space's confining walls block radio signals. Overcome this problem using Earmark's CONKIT. CONKIT incorporates a small, low powered Base Station (the CONBASE )placed inside the confined space where the walls won't hamper reception. CONBASE connects to an external speaker mic (the CONBOX ) using a durable audio cable passed through the confined space entrance. Each entrant wears an Earmark Half-Duplex portable radio (Headset or Belt-Pak) that communicates with the CONBASE. The attendant, outside the confined space, hears all conversation over the CONBOX speaker and talks to the entrants with the PTT mic. The attendant always has a free channel to check the entrants or provide warnings. Using extension cables, CONBASE can be positioned up to 500 feet from the CONBOX without the need for auxiliary amplification. The entire system is listed as Intrinsically Safe by Underwriters Laboratories. Inside the confined space, the entrants are untethered, free to move about in comfort and secure in the knowledge that they communicate with the attendant continuously. |
